AFRICA!

If a trip to Africa is not on your bucket list, it should be!
Why?
BIRD DIVERSITY
The Princeton Field Guide to the Birds of Southern Africa illustrates 962 species, of which 98 are endemic and another 80 are near-endemic. In South Africa alone there are over 750 species of birds, and a normal 16-day tour produces a bird list of about 400 species. If you expand the region to include all of the sub-Saharan countries included in the tours we offer, the list of possible species climbs to a staggering 1600+.
MAGNIFICENT WILDERNESS AREAS
Africa's dedication to conservation of its wildlife heritage is evident in the amount of land set aside for wildlife. As you visit these areas on safari you can expect to see not only the "Big Five" (Elephant, Rhinoceros, Buffalo, Leopard, and Lion) but also zebras, giraffes, hyenas, jackals, several species of antelope, and possibly cheetah and Wild Dog. Couple this with astounding bird sightings, and you have the trip of a lifetime!
INCREDIBLE DIVERSITY
One of the reasons for the high bird diversity is southern Africa's climatic and topographical diversity. The climate ranges from cool-temperate in the southwest to tropical in the north. In general, the amount of rainfall increases from west to east giving rise to the driest of deserts, the Namib, in the west to wet lowland forests along the east coast, and everything in between. Biomes including some that you're unlikely to see anywhere else on earth - karoo, savanna, fynbos, grassland, lowland and montane forests - each have their own unique vegetation and accompanying wildlife and avifauna.
MAJESTIC SCENERY
Africa offers some of the most spectacular scenery on Earth! A total of 121 UNESCO World Heritage Sites grace this continent.
COMFORT
Major roads are good, food is delicious, and accommodations range from luxury tent camping to extremely luxurious lodges and B&Bs. Wherever we take you, you'll have comfortable lodging and be well fed.
FRIENDLY PEOPLE AND FASCINATING CULTURE
A bonus to your birding and wildlife adventure in Africa is the opportunity to observe some of the myriad of cultures and customs found in different parts of the continent. And you are unlikely to find friendlier people than on a trip to Africa!
You can join a birding/wildlife tour to one of 10 sub-Saharan countries covered by our subsidiary, Cheepers! AFRICA. If you are in the market for a tour that has a broader perspective, Cheepers! Africa can provide a tour that fits your needs.

AFRICAN CULTURE AND NATURE TOURS
If you have been searching for a tour that has more of an even focus on bird watching, culture activities and nature viewing, Cheepers! Africa may have an answer to your search. We are pleased to announce we now offer culture and nature tours to South Africa and Jordan. The South Africa tour offers a combination of culture, nature and bird watching activities emphasizing the cultural highlights of Johannesburg and Capetown, the spectacular wildlife of Kruger National Park, along with viewing some of the most spectacular birds in South Africa. The Jordan tour offers a combination of culture and bird watching, emphasizing the cultural highlights of Perta and the Wadi Rum, Jerash and several desert castles, along with visiting top birding sites to find many of the 434 bird species recorded in Jordan.
ANYTIME TOURS
Anytime tours - the name is self-explanatory, so if you see any tour or destination that takes your fancy but the scheduled dates do not fit your plans, let us know. More often than not, we will be able to accommodate you and find extra participants if so required - even easier if you have your own group! We also offer tailor-made itineraries to fit your exact needs and requirements.
DAY TRIPS
We offer day trips for 1 to 6 clients from most major centers in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and Zambia. If you find yourself in southern Africa on business or holiday and have a day or two to spare, let us take care of your idle time and show you some of the spectacular avian delights within striking distance of most major cities.
EXPEDITIONS
Africa is home to some of the most exciting birding and wildlife destinations in the world. While many countries have excellent tourism infrastructure, others have only recently opened up to tourism and some are notoriously difficult to travel in. For this reason, we offer Expedition Trips, specifically targeted at world listers and the young at heart. These expeditions are tailor-made from the ground up, taking into account the best possible sites to find birds on the participant's wish list. Conditions on these tours can sometimes be trying and often rustic, but the excitement of seeing that super rare bird that very few birders have ever seen sure makes it worthwhile. Errol de Beer, co-owner and senior guide of Cheepers! Africa, has run many highly successful expedition trips to various parts of Africa for some of the top listers in the world, often leading to return visits by these clients.
